Criminal Appeals Lawyer in Virginia

In the past ten years, the lawyers at Virgina Post Conviction have been counsel of record on over 60 cases in the Supreme Court of Virginia and over 20 in the Virginia Court of Appeals, as well as over 50 cases in the United States Courts of Appeals. Their prolific work as appellate attorneys has resulted in over 100 reported decisions. In 2021, Jon Sheldon was one of 19 lawyers recommended by the Virginia State Bar to be considered to be a new judge on the Virginia Court of Appeals. He was also selected to teach other appellate attorneys at the Virginia State Bar’s annual state-wide conference “The Appellate Summit.” In addition to the Virginia courts, Jon Sheldon has been admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court and numerous United States Courts of Appeals, State or Federal Courts.
