Sarah has more than a decade of experience litigating civil and criminal appeals and post-conviction cases in the Virginia Court of Appeals and Virginia Supreme Court. During her work with the Fairfax County Attorney’s Office Sarah argued several appeals before the Virginia Supreme Court, and successfully litigated a civil rights case in the Eastern District of Virginia and Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Sarah began her legal career clerking for Fairfax Circuit Court Judge Arthur Vieregg. She has also worked in the Fairfax Public Defender’s Office and the Federal Defenders’ Office in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she focused exclusively on habeas litigation. Sarah formerly worked at McGuire Woods, where she assisted with investigations related to a compliance settlement for a major federal contractor and successfully argued an appeal on behalf of the City of Fairfax in the Virginia Supreme Court.
Sarah also has taught legal research and writing at the George Washington University Law School.
